G.E.T. Books Redcar – The Free Bookshop

About

WE ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE; IN SEARCH OF A NEW PREMESIS. PLEASE CHECK OUR SOCIAL MEDIA FOR UPDATES.

G.E.T. Books Redcar is a charity bookshop, set-up and run solely by volunteers on behalf of the Global Educational Trust. Since opening in August 2016, they have transformed from an empty shop unit (with only 60 boxes of books) into a thriving hub of the community.

Unlike other charity shops, they don’t put prices on the books they sell, they are available free of charge or for a donation if you wish, this means that everyone who wants to read has the opportunity to do so! All of the money they raise goes to charity to help promote literacy and education in the UK and around the world.

They have a wide variety of stock including: fiction (general, crime, sci-fi, action & adventure), classics, language books, cookery, gardening, children’s, travel, mills & boon, biography/autobiography, religion, sport, health, audio-books, history, war, music, art, photography, plus lots more!

The bookshop relies on donations so stock changes every day - you never know what you might find! If you’re looking for something in particular, the friendly and knowledgeable volunteers are on hand to help out.

So head in for a browse, take a seat in the comfy reading corner, and lose yourself in a good book!

Want to donate your books? G.E.T Books always accept book donations! Whether it’s one or 100, no book will ever be turned away.
