Christmas kicks off in spectacular style in Redcar town centre on 28 November, with a festive parade involving over two hundred Redcar and Cleveland residents, who’ve taken part in months of workshops with professional local artists, creating an array of lanterns and costumes for the theme of ‘Fire and Ice’.
They join professional performers Rag and Bone, Spark! Illuminated Drummers, Back Chat Brass, and amazing creations by artist Mowenna Catt, Adele Catchpole and Shirley Wells. Dance performances will also take place by The Imaginarium and Urban Kaos.

Opening Times
The parade commences from the Heart at 4.30pm, heading to Station Road, Queen’s Street, the High Street, West Terrace, Coatham Road, then back to the Heart. Acts will perform on stage from 5:30pm – 6:30pm before the big Redcar lights switch-on by the Mayor or Redcar & Cleveland.
