Mish Mash festival is a music festival you don’t want to miss out on, so head down to Darlington’s Market Place for this free event.
Featuring local musicians with a fusion of styles to bring a two-day event packed with outstanding performances.
Saturday will showcase local and regional artists, including Darlington artists ETHR playing indie pop, The Skapones who’ve hit the top of the UK
Reggae charts twice now with their ska/reggae tunes. The headliners will be Darlington’s Weekend, as well as Cortney Dixon from South Shields who was one one of BBC Music Introducing in the North East’s Top Ten Tips. Plus the excellent Moon Wax, Middlesbrough’s own R n B, 90’s funk and house influenced 6 piece band, not forgetting Los Capitanes who headlined last year’s virtual event.
Sunday will be all about showcasing a range of genres, with K.O.G. and the Zongo Brigade headlining with African hip-hop fusions, not forgetting rock duo Blackbeard’s Tea Party. Leeds-based ‘Biscuit Head and The Biscuit Badgers’ are perfect for families, with their fun songs about Cheese, David Attenborough and Dinosaurs. Groove Nite and The Dead Set will complete the lineup with fun and soul sounds, with Bubamara playing folk-punk to open the show.
Enjoy food & drinks stalls as part of Darlington’s Food Fair, family crafts presented by BIG Little Gigs, and a whole line-up of free music & dance workshops with break dancers The Wreckheadz Krew, Voices Of Darlington and more.
