Midlesbrough Mela will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August in Albert Park, Middlesbrough. Incredible food, market bazaar, arts and crafts, street performers, sports, games, musicians plus loads more to look forward to over the weekend.
Hosted by BBC Asian Network’s Bobby Friction, headline acts include Panjabi MC and Lehmber Hussainpuri.
Other artists taking to the main stage include:
- DJ Yash – flying in from the beach parties of Portugal to bring the best Bollywood, Bhangra and Urban Desi beats
- Breeze George – winner of the Dance Deewane UK Best Female Dancer; standby for amazing dance performances
- Jodi Dancers – a Bhangra team of performers from age 13-30! They will wow the crowd with their energetic dance moves
- Rajni Jain Aarya – one of the most sought-after names in Punjabi folk music
- Kuldeep Purewal – with a massive NE following, he is definitely going to be the life of the party!
- Rita Morar – versatile fusion, songwriter and live performer with an amazing sound
- Harvey Sahota – inspired by Eastern and Western music influences, his musical career spans decades
- Jenna – best-known for Idols and the Voice of Holland, she is influenced by J Lo, Rhianna and Whitney Houston
There’s also a variety of family activities, stalls, and authentic Asian street dishes to enjoy at the event!
