Middlesbrough Art Weekender is back! After a year away, the largest contemporary arts festival in the North East returns with exhibitions, events, performances and workshops for all ages. MAW21 brings a programme of ambitious contemporary art projects informed by place. Its theme for 2021 is ‘Infrastructure,’ offering a contemporary twist on the Tees Valley’s industrial heritage through new commissions and live performances. Confirmed artists include Fiona Crisp, Gordon Matta Clarke, Liz West, Ben Owen, David Shrigley, Nicola Ellis, Narbi Price, James Cauty and Katie Davies.

Middlesbrough Art Weekender takes place across several sites in Middlebsbrough town centre. The main space, The Auxiliary, is based at 31 Station Street and is a 2 minute walk from Middlesbrough Train station and a 10 minute walk from Middlesbrough Bus Station.
