People across Stockton-on-Tees are invited to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III over the Bank Holiday weekend from Saturday 6 – Monday 8 May.
And as part of those celebrations, residents can plan and host a traditional street party in their neighbourhood, with Coronation party packs provided by the Council to support their efforts.
If you would like to hold a street party for the King’s Coronation, applications are open now at www.stockton.gov.uk/street-parties
Applications close on Monday 3 April 2023.
We are expecting a significant number of applications so please do submit your application as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is also supporting a series of events around the Borough to mark the historic occasion.
The Coronation Big Lunch
The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6 May. Witness history taking place in Stockton High Street, as we celebrate in style with Stockton’s Coronation Big Lunch.
Join us on Stockton High Street on Saturday 6 May between 10am – 4pm for a jam packed programme of free entertainment for the whole family. Watch the live stream of the momentous occasion on a big screen, join in with a tea dance and a best of British dance party with Urban Kaos.
Free activities including:
- The return of the popular Victorian fair
- Face painting
- Balloon modelling
- Arts activities
Local bakers Tasty Tarts and Sprouts community food charity will be cooking up free tasty treats for you to sample along with plenty of food and drink stalls to choose from. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic!
Enjoy free live music, including a performance from the Wildcats of Kilkenny which will certainly get everyone dancing.
