About

An Enchanted Winter everyday

Thursdays – Mondays, from Thursday 25 November – Monday 20 December, 10.30am – 4pm

Step inside the hall for an instant Christmas feeling as you follow the tale of ‘Patience the Polar Bear’ on her festive adventure through an enchanted woodland to visit her friends. The rooms will be adorned with sparkling lights, nature inspired decorations and the fresh sweet smell of winter foliage from the garden.

Enjoy one of our special hot drinks: millionaire shortbread latte or gingerbread cappuccino in the café and warm yourself by the fire pit in the atmospheric courtyard.

Percy The Park Keeper’s winter adventure trail

Wrap up warm, find your way through the trail and see what winter nature you can spot along the way. The trail story is focused on families becoming Percy’s helper for the day helped by his animal friends, stepping into his ‘wellies’ while he is busy on site. There will be winter tasks, activities, games, clues and a note from Percy to help them along the way. £2 cost for the trail, with a prize at the end and a chance to capture your experience of the day.

The trail will take place between Saturday 4 December – Monday 20 December, 10.30 – 4, so come along and explore the beautiful garden of Ormesby Hall

Weekday extras

Volunteers will be ready to greet you with a warm smile and best wishes for the season as you get in the Christmas spirit with festive music and take in the smells of Christmas in the Victorian Kitchen with fresh baking on Mondays. And with Christmas possibly being the most popular crafty season, take inspiration from our book angel demonstrations.

Relax by the fire in the Victorian Kitchen and settle down for a winter tale with Mrs Christmas, before making a Christmas card to take home.

And more

And don’t forget everything else Ormesby Hall has to offer too. The natural play area, beautiful formal garden and model railway layouts.

An admission ticket for the house and garden is needed to visit and enjoy the activities, with National Trust members and under 5s free admission.
