About
To celebrate Carers week 5-11 June, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council are hosting its own Carers Market on Stockton High Street.
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
Members of the public can drop in and enjoy a bit of self-care with some free holistic therapies, refreshments, or speak to one of the many organisations there who support some of our most vulnerable people within the borough.
People interested in finding out more about what is available across Stockton-on-Tees to support both carers and anyone in need of care and support are welcome to visit the marquee on Stockton High Street to browse the information stalls.
The market is free to attend and will offer information on a variety of interesting services and organisations including:
- Eastern Ravens Trust who support our young carers
- Cleveland police
- Citizens advice
- Impact on Teesside
- Stockton home improvement agency
- Condition specific support from places such as Teesside dementia Link and Diabetes UK
Come along and find out what support is available to you as an informal carer.
