The Heugh Battery Museum aims to educate its visitors on part of The First World War that touched many lives around Hartlepool on 16th December 1914. As The Heugh Battery Museum engaged German warships in the North East Bombardment which would be remembered by many and alerted the UK to the dangers of war.
The Heugh Battery Museum encourages people to understand a personal home war and world conflict that impacted on both on those at the Front but also those who are left behind at home. The venue is divided across three levels with the underground magazines, the parade ground and main museum with the Observation Point tower providing panoramic views of the North Sea and surrounding coast line.
