To undesrtand life at sea 200 years ago head for the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool, the site is also the permanent home of HMS Trincomalee the second oldest warship afloat in the world.

Continue your voyage of discovery and learn all about Middlesbrough’s most famous son at the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum where you will learn all about his amazing expeditions.

Whilst in Middlesbrough head to the fabulous Dorman Museum which is home to many collections including the most significant hoard of Christopher Dresser creations in Europe.

Finish off at Kirkleatham Museum, the local history museum for the borough of Redcar & Cleveland with a treasure trove of artefacts and exhibitions set on three floors all hosted within a magnificent 1710 Queen Anne building.
