The Tees Valley is home to an abundance of nature and wildlife which populate the reserves, beaches, parks and gardens.

Meet the most famous residents – the harbour and grey seals. Spot them in their unique habitat as they bask beside the tidal channels in the region’s industry at Seal Sands, or see if you can find them taking a swim at Tees Barrage.

Retreat to the seaside to spot spectacular sea birds along 30 miles of serene coastline stretching from Saltburn to Seaton Carew. Don’t forget to discover Teesmouth National Nature Reserve which provides the perfect setting for sea-watching and spotting unique species of bird and duck.

Picturesque outdoor spaces in the Tees Valley are plentiful, so you can tour an array of pretty parks and gardens or explore your wild side as you wander through woodlands and nature reserves. Enjoy breathtaking views whilst birdwatching at Maze Hill or find swaithes of wildflowers and fauna at Coatham Marsh.
